Junior Membership

When we first opened the gym it was for junior athletes. The truth is they play less now. There isn’t as much running around, climbing and jumping from trees and playing British Bulldog at lunch time. There isn’t even as much PE at school. All this means a lot of juniors are missing key movements and abilities. That’s where we come in…

How does Strength & Conditioning help?

Our aim is to get juniors fit, healthy and generally more athletic. Strength & Conditioning isn’t just for athletes.

Our programs will improve…

  • Confidence

  • Mental health

  • Fitness

  • Strength

  • Athleticism

The programs are structured and progressive, based on the latest scientific principles. Don’t just take them to another generic fitness class. At Chaos they will be on a long term athlete development plan designed to help them improve and enjoy the process.

These programs are generally aimed at junior Rugby League players, both boys and girls will benefit from this). But they are suitable for any junior that wants to be stronger, fitter, faster and more confident.

We also offer regular performance testing as part of our process to help monitor how they are progressing.

Here is the process

  • Our style of coaching isn’t for everyone, we work with professional athletes and although we don’t expect that level of athleticism we do expect that level of execution. Any junior working with us is expected to do what is asked of them, do it well, and add to our environment by being polite and personable as well as keeping the place tidy.

  • We often start the junior members on 1 session per week to make sure it adds in to their current timetable well and they aren’t doing too much. Once they are settled and have been consistent we can move them to two sessions per week.

  • In the first three months we would expect to see a significant increase in strength which is why we don’t test them straight away. After they have been with us for at least that amount of time we will look to get their ‘baseline’ testing information using our Hawkin Dynamics force plates (gold standard of athlete testing devices). We will then test them 3 - 4 times per year to monitor progress.
